PERRC and FETCi sign collaboration agreement

In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance road safety across the country, the Philippine government is set to introduce an innovative nationwide open road tolling and multi-lane free flow (MLFF) tolling system. The move aims to streamline traffic flow, ensure the safety of motorists, and mitigate congestion on tollways.

Led by Congressman Eric Pineda, Robert Nazal, and Congresswoman Bernadette Herrera, a delegation recently visited the Foreign Engineering and Technology Company, Inc. (FETCi) to discuss and finalize the collaboration agreement on MLFF implementation. The signing of the agreement marks a significant step towards revolutionizing the country's tolling system.

During the visit, the delegation expressed their anticipation to leverage FETCi's expertise and successful experience in Taiwan to effectively enhance traffic efficiency in the Philippines. By adopting MLFF technology, they aim to optimize traffic flow, reduce travel time, and ultimately bring about environmental benefits in the future.

The nationwide implementation of the open road tolling and MLFF system signifies the government's commitment to addressing transportation challenges and promoting sustainable development. With the collaboration between key stakeholders, including government officials and technology partners, the Philippines is poised to usher in a new era of efficient and safer tollway operations.
